NEWS
COMMISSIONERS FOR DIVISIONS ONE AND TWO, BILL POSTEN AND STEVE BAUMAN HAVE RETAINED THEIR POSITIONS ON THE BOARD. BILL FOR ANOTHER THREE YEARS AND STEVE WILL RUN AGAIN NEXT YEAR BECAUSE HE WAS APPOINTED TO FILL DIVISION #2 AFTER A RETIREMENT. BOTH RAN UNOPPOSED IN THE ELECTIONS THIS YEAR. THE DISTRICT BENEFITS A GREAT DEAL FROM THEIR MANY YEARS OF KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE.


USER CHANGES
IT IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT TO CALL THE DISTRICT OFFICE IF YOU ARE CONTEMPLATING A FAMILY TRANSFER, SUBDIVISION OR BOUNDARY RELOCATION ON YOUR IRRIGATED PROPERTY. THESE CHANGES WILL REQUIRE APPROVAL FROM THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FOR WATER ALLOCATION. EASEMENTS MAY BE REQUIRED, THE MOMENT YOU HAVE A NEW PRELIMINARY MAP OF YOUR CHANGES, PLEASE CONTACT THE DISTRICT. IT WILL MAKE THE ENTIRE PROCESS SO MUCH EASIER FOR ALL PARTIES.


ANNUAL DISTRICT MEETING
THE DISTRICT ANNUAL MEETING WILL BE HELD AT 7PM ON JUNE 9TH. THE PUBLIC MTG IS HELD AT THE DISTRICT OFFICE. WE ENCOURAGE WATER USERS TO ATTEND SO THAT YOU MAY BETTER UNDERSTAND THE OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE OF THE DISTRICT. BRID’S MANAGER, JOHN CROWLEY, ALWAYS SHOWS A VERY INFORMATIVE AND EDUCATIONAL POWER POINT PRESENTATION. SIPHON ONE PROGRESS
THE DISTRICT IS PRESENTLY WORKING ON SIPHON  ONE PHASE THREE. THIS INVOLVES A BRIDGE STRUCTURE, CROSSING OVER THE BITTER ROOT RIVER, AND 720 FEET OF STEEL PIPE. THIS IS THE MOST EXPENSIVE PART OF SIPHON ONE PROJECT. THE DISTRICT APPLIED FOR A DNRC RRGL GRANT FOR $125,000.00 AND A LOAN OF $1.7 MILION DOLLARS. THE DISTRICT IS WAITING FOR APPROVAL FROM THE 2015 LEGISLATION SESSION. ALSO, SENATOR TESTER’S OFFICE CALLED AND SAID THE DISTRICT WAS AWARDED A $250,000.00 WRDA GRANT FROM THE ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS. THIS IS A 75/25 COST SHARE.


WATER OUTLOOK
AS OF MARCH 10, 2015 LAKE COMO IS 60% FULL. LAKE ELEVATION IS CURRENTLY 4228.7. WE WILL NEED APPROXIMATELY 15,368 ACRE FEET
TO FILL. THE SNOW PACK IS RIGHT AT 100%.


TO DO’S AS THE SEASON BEGINS
MAKE SURE YOU ARE AWARE OF WHO YOUR DITCHRIDER IS AND HOW TO GET AHOLD OF HIM ON EVENINGS AND WEEKENDS. HAVE YOUR DITCHES CLEAN AND READY FOR IRRIGATION  FLOW. RULE OF THUMB FOR THOSE IRRIGATORS WHO SPRINKLE: ONE SPRINKLER HEAD PER IRRIGATED ACRE. REPLACE NOZZLE HEADS AS NEEDED FOR PROPER IRRIGATION. MAKE WATER ORDERS TO THE OFFICE A DAY AHEAD.

85-7-1503 – ALL MEETINGS OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS SHALL BE PUBLIC AND A COMPLETE RECORD OF ALL PROCEEDINGS SHALL BE KEPT BY THE SECRETARY.
